Preventative Mental Health for High-Stress Workforces

Thrive is a prevention-focused mental health solution designed for first responders and other high-stress occupations. Thrive uses research-informed algorithms, wearable data, AI-supported interpretation, and human follow-up to help identify sustained physiological strain before people reach a breaking point. We are currently testing Thrive with 50 firefighters in Alberta as we build a new model for moving workplace mental health from reaction to prevention.

How Thrive Works

Build a Personal Baseline and Track Recovery

Participants receive a wearable device and collect an initial two-week baseline. Thrive then compares each person’s sleep, stress, recovery, and strain patterns against their own baseline using a simple flagging system ( green → yellow → orange → red).

Connect People to Support

Thrive helps participants self-manage when strain is mild and connects them to resources when support is needed. When someone moves into orange or red, human outreach can be triggered so they are not left to manage alone.

Give Organizations Better Insight

Organizations receive anonymized, aggregated reports showing workforce-level trends across stress, recovery, and strain. These trends can help identify patterns by shift, team, role, or work cycle, so leaders can act earlier and make better decisions about prevention, staffing, peer support, benefits, and wellbeing investments.

How Thrive Helps

Earlier Signals

Thrive is not clinical and does not diagnose mental illness. It helps identify patterns of sustained strain, poor recovery, disrupted sleep, and elevated stress over time, so workers and organizations can see when stress may be building.

Support at the Right Time

Thrive helps participants move from early warning signs to the right support, whether that means workplace resources, mental health benefits, peer support, clinical care, or community services.

Better Use of Wellbeing Dollars

Thrive helps organizations make better use of existing wellbeing investments by connecting workers to support earlier, before strain leads to prolonged mental health leaves, psychological injury claims, or more serious workplace impacts.

Built for High-Stress Work

Thrive is designed for workforces where stress exposure is high, recovery is difficult, and the cost of waiting is too great. This includes first responders, public safety workers, healthcare workers, and other teams exposed to chronic stress, trauma, shift work, and high operational demands.

Research-Informed. Human-Led.

Our algorithms are informed by peer-reviewed research on stress physiology, sleep, recovery, heart rate variability, and cumulative strain. But Thrive is not just about data. It is about using data to support earlier outreach, better human conversations, and more timely pathways to care.
